Balanced Control of Generalized Error Rates

چکیده
Consider the problem of testing s hypotheses simultaneously. In this paper, we derive methods which control the generalized familywise error rate given by the probability of k or more false rejections, abbreviated k-FWER. We derive both single-step and stepdown procedures that control the k-FWER in finite samples or asymptotically, depending on the situation. Moreover, the procedures are asymptotically balanced in an appropriate sense. We briefly consider control of the average number of false rejections. Additionally, we consider the false discovery proportion (FDP), defined as the number of false rejections divided by the total number of rejections (and defined to be 0 if there are no rejections). Here, the goal is to construct methods which satisfy, for given γ and α, P{FDP > γ} ≤ α, at least asymptotically. Special attention attention is paid to the construction of methods which implicitly take into account the dependence structure of the individual test statistics in order to further increase the ability to detect false null hypotheses. A general resampling and subsampling approach is presented which achieves these objectives, at least asymptotically.

This paper has two aims. The first is forecasting inflation in Iran using Macroeconomic variables data in Iran (Inflation rate, liquidity, GDP, prices of imported goods and exchange rates) , and the second is comparing the performance of forecasting vector auto regression (VAR), Bayesian Vector-Autoregressive (BVAR), GARCH, time series and neural network models by which Iran's inflation is for...
متن کاملBalanced Truncation Model Reduction for Semidiscretized Stokes Equation
We discuss model reduction of linear continuous-time descriptor systems that arise in the control of semidiscretized Stokes equations. Balanced truncation model reduction methods for descriptor systems are presented. These methods are closely related to the proper and improper controllability and observability Gramians and Hankel singular values of descriptor systems. The Gramians can be comput...

A modification of the Balanced Stoc1insiti.c Truncation method fqr relative error model reduction is introduced. The new method is shown to satisfy an infinity norm bound on the relative error between the full order and the reduced order models. The discrete time balaiiced stochastic ...
متن کاملModel Reduction of Strongly Stable Nonstationary LPV Systems
This paper deals with the model reduction of nonstationary linear parametervarying (NLPV) systems. Our interest in LPV models is motivated by the desire to control nonlinear systems along prespecified trajectories. LPV models arise naturally in such scenarios as a method to capture the possible nonlinear dynamics, while maintaining a model that is amenable to control synthesis. Frequently, when...
متن کاملGeneralized Balanced Tournament Packings and Optimal Equitable Symbol Weight Codes for Power Line Communications
Generalized balanced tournament packings (GBTPs) extend the concept of generalized balanced tournament designs introduced by Lamken and Vanstone (1989). In this paper, we establish the connection between GBTPs and a class of codes called equitable symbol weight codes (ESWCs). The latter were recently demonstrated to optimize the performance against narrowband noise in a general coded modulation...
